Lecture on coercive use at Bærum hospital

Bærum Hospital invited the Løvemammaen to hold lecture on coercive use against children at a professional evening for employees at the medical biochemistry department at Bærum Hospital.

It was chairman Bettina Lindgren who represented the Løvemammaene this evening.

She talked about both personal experience with unnecessary and disproportionate coercion against her own children, what measures they themselves had to take to get out of the vicious cycle of holding, as well as the consequences of coercive use and silo thinking, and how together we can change the culture of holding across departments, agencies and county boundaries.

It was extra nice to be given a tour of the beautiful sampling room at Bærum Hospital after the lecture. Here, the staff have really made an effort to make the room a little less intimidating and more child-friendly.
