Løvemammaene have sent a letter to the Ministry of Health and Care Services and the Directorate of Health regarding the fact that a number of hospitals are still charging for anesthetics and bandages in connection with the treatment of children under the age of 16. This is despite the fact that Løvemammaene won a motion for this to be free from July 1, 2025.
We have received documentation that several notices from hospitals in several health regions contain information that parents must purchase Emla patches themselves in advance of medical procedures in hospitals. We have attached these to our letter to the Ministry of Health and Care Services and the Directorate of Health.
Below you can read our letter.
We will update when we receive a response to our inquiry.
