The lionesses received a large gift from the Grieg Foundation

The lion mothers have received a generous gift of 500,000 kroner from the Grieg Foundation through the initiative Your Heart's Desire. The support means a lot to our work to strengthen the rights and quality of life of children and young people with illness or functional variation, and their families.

Your heart's desire is an initiative where employees in the Grieg system can highlight organizations and projects they are passionate about. Through this scheme, the Lion Mothers have been selected as a cause of concern by employees at Grieg Investor. We are both proud of and deeply grateful for that.

The formal handover took place in Oslo, where Kristin and Elin from the Bære Sammen project group in Løvemammaene participated. Here we were presented with the symbolic check from representatives of the Grieg Foundation. It was a meeting characterized by warmth, commitment and a common understanding of how important the work for seriously ill children and their families is.

Will strengthen families with children in palliative care

Together with the Grieg Foundation, it has been decided that the funds will be used for work aimed at families with children in palliative care. These are families who often live with very demanding caregiving tasks, great uncertainty and a support system that is not always adapted to their needs.

The support will help Bære Sammen to continue to:

• raise the voices of families who are often not heard
• work for better rights and services for children with serious illnesses
• strengthen the support system for families in palliative care
• contribute to increased knowledge and awareness about palliative care for children in Norway

For the families concerned, the right support, understanding and follow-up can be crucial in a very vulnerable life situation. Therefore, this gift means more than just financial support – it also gives us the opportunity to continue to be a clear voice for the country's lion families.
