Family day at Foldvik Family Park

On Saturday 29 June, the Løvemammaene East organized Family Day in Foldvik Family Park in Larvik. The family day was originally supposed to take place the week before, but Foldvik recommended that we postpone it due to terrible weather. Thanks to funds from Bufdir, we were able to offer 100 tickets, including lunch, to our members.

With a lot of wind in their hair, but also sunshine, board member Vanja and board chairman Connie were ready to welcome the families. Fortunately, we had a separate entrance which enabled our members to avoid the entrance queue. Foldvik also handed out its own mining tickets in addition, where all the children could dig for "gems". We then moved on to the "base" to prepare for lunch together.

After all the members had had some time on their own in the park, we got good help from a couple of members (Dave and Ole), board member Eline and board member Elisabeth to organize a barbecue lunch and distribution of drinks to everyone who wanted to participate. After lunch there were still plenty of opportunities to explore in the park; swimming, animals, attractions, to name a few. One thing we would like to highlight in particular is the organized sensory forest that Foldvik opened in 2024; specially adapted for people with disabilities.

A big thank you to our members, there were many who offered to help with both one and the other, and of course a big thank you to both Bufdir and Foldvik Family Park for this great opportunity!

Kind regards, the board of Løvemammaene East.
