Original price was: 200,00 kr.Current price is: 179,00 kr. Add to cart

Anna Fiske deals with a topic that children are curious about, and adults may find it difficult to talk about.

There are 8,000 children and young people in Norway who have a life-threatening and/or life-shortening illness. Many of these children have siblings, friends and other children who are close to them. Anna Fiske's book How do you talk about death? is a good conversation starter for anyone who has questions about death, or knows someone who is about to or has passed away. Because what actually happens to the body when you die? What is a funeral? And why do we really have to die?

Anna Fiske has a completely unique communication ability, and i How do you talk about death? she talks to the children at eye level and takes them seriously, while at the same time being able to write warm-hearted, inclusive and even funny.

Unique – the story of Kose

    349,00 kr Add to cart

Children's book about developmental disabilities, autism, cohesion and inclusion.

Koda's sister, Kose, is not quite like everyone else. She builds the strangest double tower, nibbles on ice-cold carrots, and gives the world's best cuddles. She is different, but Koda thinks she is unique, almost magical! What is it like to be a star in a square world? And can an ordinary big brother make a difference?

With "Unique, the story of Kose", Siri Stray gives a heartfelt and insightful portrayal of a family's journey of supporting and loving a child with developmental disabilities and autism. The book shows how to find light and hope in challenging situations, as well as challenges both in everyday life and when dealing with the support system. It explores themes such as family love, accommodation, patience and acceptance of difference with a good balance between humor and seriousness. It is written from a child's perspective, through the eyes of a brother, giving an insight into the honest feelings and thoughts a child can have.

The book is aimed at children, with an emphasis on children as relatives, but may also be of interest to parents, teachers or other professionals who want to gain better insight and understanding of how to include and support children with a disability and their relatives.

The book has a behavioral analysis angle, and is interspersed with music with sheet music at the back of the book. It is fully illustrated by illustrator Christina Winther.

    - You will get help. Society has a responsibility to help families who have children with disabilities, comforted the doctor.

Bente Berg went to the task in the belief that society would stand up for her two sons. 37 years later, after countless trials in the face of those who were supposed to help, she asks in this book: What is the matter with the aid apparatus?

With a mother's love as a driving force, she has insisted that the boys have good and dignified lives, and the family of six an almost normal everyday life. Berg has not found himself in injustice and lack of understanding, but it has cost, among other things in the form of an endless series of applications, complaints and appeals, telephone calls and meetings. All in addition to own work and demanding tasks at home. At times, it is almost hard to believe that this kind of thing happens in our welfare society. But it does, which research also supports.
