"FEAR FOR THE OUTCOME IF IDA (10) GETS CORONA"

Jannicke Sivertsen, Vårt land, Løvemammaene, Covid-19

At the same time as the school year is well under way, the infection is skyrocketing. Jannicke fears the worst if her seriously ill daughter becomes infected, and believes that the children in the risk group have been forgotten.

Vårt Land has written about our dear board member Jannicke. She is the mother of 10-year-old Ida, who is one of the country's approximately 4,000 seriously ill children. She has a muscle disease that means she is dependent on technical breathing aids. If she gets corona, the family fears a very serious illness - or something even worse.

- Since they have now opened up like this, it is with a lump in our stomach that we send Ida to school. If she gets corona, anything can happen, says Jannicke to VL. She feels that little is said about the vulnerable children because people are afraid of new rounds of strict restrictions.

Furthermore, VL clarifies: "Even if the infection rate is higher than ever, society is significantly more like itself now than when especially the elderly and people in the risk group had to be protected a year and a half ago. This is something that Løvemammaene, an organization that works for the rights of sick and disabled children and young people, has reacted strongly to.
