Meeting regarding better conditions for basic and auxiliary benefits

In February, the hospital children's committee sent a request for better conditions for basic and auxiliary benefits to the Labor and Social Committee at the Storting and asked for a meeting to discuss the matter. Only the Conservative Party responded to the inquiry and wanted to meet us.

Our deputy Elin Gunnarsson had a meeting with Storting representative Anne Molberg (H) and political adviser Hilde Hvaal Durban (H). Anne Molberg has also been involved in the long-term care allowance case with NAV, where she applied written question to the Minister of State. It was therefore natural to pick up the thread again.

We talked about the following topics:

  • Minimal increase in basic and auxiliary allowance since 2014
  • The scope of the nursing and caring work
  • Drastic economic community growth for fuel, electricity and food
  • Still a long processing time for care allowance
  • Caring allowance is the only benefit that is never increased
  • Too little holiday pay for care allowance
  • Caring allowance should be equated with disability in order to receive an annual fee
  • Care allowance in the event of a child's death

Anna Molberg asked in the meeting to be sent a total overview of our input and opinions on the above. Where we bring out the issues, possible solutions and what it would have done for our target group.

Many thanks to the Conservative Party for opening the discussion meeting. We look forward to further cooperation in these matters.
