Unfortunately, the Løvemammaen constantly receive inquiries from members and other parents who feel that employers require them to apply for unpaid leave from work while they receive care allowance. This is an incorrect and illegal practice.
Employers, as we have made clear a number of times, do not have the right to demand that employees apply for unpaid leave when they receive care allowance. Løvemammaene refer to earlier write about the problems surrounding demands for unpaid leave and the Minister of Labour's and Social Affairs' response to this. Nevertheless, it seems that some employers choose to defy the information that is already available regarding this practice.
Therefore, we have now designed a new signed letter that can be sent to employers who require you to apply for unpaid leave. You can link to or download the letter, and send it to the employer yourself.
We can also help you who are members of our organization to send the letter from Løvemammaene, if you wish. Then you can contact us at post@lovemammaene.no.
Below you can read and download the letter.
